Friday Update
It’s been a busy week around here and its been a struggle to post. I haven’t cooked much this week so I don’t have much to post. I did make some Enchiladas Suizas with a butternut squash and pea filling, they were great. I hope to post that recipe on Monday. I will be baking bread this weekend, so we’ll have a bread update and some recipes. I’ll probably make a ciabatta and a foccacia, finally its getting into the season where I can turn the oven on without feeling guilty. Beth bought some red potatoes that I might make a potato chowder out of, this would be my first non vegetarian recipe to post if I get to it, a chowder isn’t a chowder without bacon (or another pork Product). I’m still pretending its autumn here in AZ even though we don’t have seasons or seasonal produce. We’re stocking up on butternut squash, potatoes, onions, acorn squash, and we are planning a trip to the apple orchard (only a 3 hour drive) soon. As we visit Payson, AZ and the mountain country I’ll be looking out for wild berries, I’ve heard the blackberries are in full harvest. I’ve been craving brussels sprouts so I’ll get a recipe for them. The baked goods seem to be the most popular recipes, I’ll consult my professional baking book and my Veganomicon cook book and see what we can come up with. Whether you like it or not, I will be posting more tofu recipes because that is our main staple, I’ll post some tempeh recipes too.
Tomorrow, September 4th marks FunctionLovesForm’s one month anniversary. Its been a good month and I feel like we’re hitting our stride. I definitely prefer the new theme to the old, but I still have alot of work to do on it. As I said before, we are expecting some guest posts, but I guess to get these people to contribute, you have to ask them first, so let me do that. My sister Emily, our most frequent commenter has expressed a desire to do a post, Emily, I officially invite you to do so. I would also invite any of our other frequent commenters to submit a post, I’m not sure exactly how we’ll post it, but just send me a word document or something and we’ll try it. I have throughly enjoyed all of your comments, thank you for them and keep them coming.

Let me say that I am very much enjoying this site. Lots of great ideas. And I love the name, especially since I, like Sarah – guessed the meaning correctly before the explanation. I do have a request…Beth has raved about your butternut squash burritos – are they the same as the butternut squash enchilada suiza? If not, could you post the burritos too? I love butternut squash everything!
Oh man! Such pressure! I will have to think….
