A man in the kitchen?
I’m a mess. I leave clothes lying on the floor, the bed unmade, the dishes in the sink overnight. I sometimes find myself getting frustrated by these messes I create, a chef once told me that a messy workspace leads to a messy mind, which leads to messy food. I agree, kind of. My mind is messy to begin with, I think this leads to a messy work area. I also feel that I must work as efficiently as possible leading to messes piling on top of messes. This drives Beth batty. So I pose you this question, Are men just more messy than women? Are men just lazier than women, are men taught different than women, or is their something in our genes that predisposes us towards messiness. What do you think?

Jared is a Cordon Bleu trained chef and a lover of food.
Beth holds a Bachelor's degree in painting and needs to write something else here.
I forgot to say what I think. I think that men are just naturally more tolerant of messes which allows them to be lazy.
Well what you forgot to say is pretty much what I was going to say. My Jared has a higher tolerance for messiness. I think the problem is partly laziness but mostly it is a lack of patience (sp?) on the female side. I know that eventually (when there are no more clean sippy cups) Jared will do the dishes himself. My mom used to ask me to do the dishes I would wait until 9ish and by then she had done them herself. But I am glad you brought this topic up because I think I just figured out how to out smart my husband. Hide clean sippy cups.
How about this: It’s a family thing. Darek cleans quite frequently. I don’t. I hate doing dishes the most. I dont mind laundry, but I hate putting it away. I really have to be in the cleaning mood to do anything else. So, I dont think its a male thing, I think it was just that our mom did it all so we are lazy.
I do dishes after dinner, and I am OCD about keeping the counter tops and the sink fixtures clean can’t stand any of those being dirty!
